Bellafill® Milwaukee
A Unique Dermal Filler
Bellafill®, available from our Milwaukee-area practice, is different from most dermal fillers. Unlike other injectable wrinkle fighters that are completely metabolized by the body, the unique microspheres within Bellafill® are not absorbed. In fact, Bellafill® represents the first product in a new category of non-resorbent dermal fillers that provide a permanent support structure for enduring wrinkle reparation. At Lake Country Plastic and Hand Surgery serving Pewaukee, Waukesha, Brookfield and Milwaukee, most of our Bellafill® patients are looking to correct medium to deep wrinkles, folds and furrows, particularly nasolabial folds, that appear on their face.
How Does Bellafill® Work?
Bellafill® is made of millions of synthetic molecules (polymethyl-methacrylate or PMMA) suspended in purified bovine collagen. These PMMA microspheres stimulate the creation of your own natural collagen. In turn, your new collagen envelops each microsphere to permanently fill in and plump up wrinkles. Also influencing the long-lasting results is the fact that the PMMA particles cannot be absorbed by your body.
Bellafill® treatment is also known as soft tissue augmentation. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to inject the filler with a fine needle. Your Bellafill® specialist at our Pewaukee office will aim the solution underneath the wrinkle, just above the skin's fat layer. The gel also contains the local anesthetic lidocaine to reduce discomfort during injection. Two sessions, about three to six weeks apart, may be necessary to achieve the desired results. Once the Bellafill® treatment is complete, you can immediately go back to your normal activities.

Am I a Good Candidate for Bellafill®?
Men and women of any age can receive Bellafill®. However, the filler is not suitable for people with allergies to bovine collagen or patients with chronic skin infections. During your meeting with our Bellafill® expert in Pewaukee, we will be able to gauge whether the procedure is right for you.
