A Unique Dermal Filler

Artefill® Milwaukee

Artefill®, available from our Milwaukee-area practice, is different from most dermal fillers. Unlike other injectable wrinkle fighters that are completely metabolized by the body, the unique microspheres within Artefill® are not absorbed. In fact, Artefill® represents the first product in a new category of non-resorbent dermal fillers that provide a permanent support structure for enduring wrinkle reparation. At Lake Country Plastic and Hand Surgery serving Pewaukee, Waukesha, Brookfield and Milwaukee, most of our Artefill® patients are looking to correct medium to deep wrinkles, folds and furrows, particularly nasolabial folds, that appear on their face.

How Does Artefill® Work?

Artefill® is made of millions of synthetic molecules (polymethyl-methacrylate or PMMA) suspended in purified bovine collagen. These PMMA microspheres stimulate the creation of your own natural collagen. In turn, your new collagen envelops each microsphere to permanently fill in and plump up wrinkles. Also influencing the long-lasting results is the fact that the PMMA particles cannot be absorbed by your body.

Artefill® treatment is also known as soft tissue augmentation. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to inject the filler with a fine needle. Your Artefill® specialist at our Pewaukee office will aim the solution underneath the wrinkle, just above the skin's fat layer. The gel also contains the local anesthetic lidocaine to reduce discomfort during injection. Two sessions, about three to six weeks apart, may be necessary to achieve the desired results. Once the Artefill® treatment is complete, you can immediately go back to your normal activities.

What are Pewaukee Artefill® Costs?

The best way to find out what the procedure will cost you is to schedule a visit with the medical staff at Lake Country Plastic and Hand Surgery. We will be pleased to discuss Pewaukee Artefill® prices with you.

Am I a Good Candidate for Artefill®?

Men and women of any age can receive Artefill®. However, the filler is not suitable for people with allergies to bovine collagen or patients with chronic skin infections. During your meeting with our Artefill® expert in Pewaukee, we will be able to gauge whether the procedure is right for you.
